ANCIENT CONTEMPORARY JEWELRY by Holly Masterson Hand made sterling silver designer jewelry. These collections incorporate the ancient traditions of casting and fabricating, along with old finishing techniques that enhance this unique sense of style. Individually hand casting links and elements, chain necklaces and bracelets have become the bones of the collection. The addition of adornments consisting of ancient artifacts, rare stones, ancient roman coins, Egyptian faience glass,and old tribal trading currencies have all led to the acclaimed success of the line. Wherever possible, I try to give accurate descriptions, provenance, origin and dates to all the items I use. Working in the simple ways of times past, the daily pleasures of silver smithing and the eye of gathering, come together to evolve into an ever changing series of designs. This website has become a starting point for many followers, who return again and again to add to their personal collections. Layering of chains and multiples of bracelets are becoming a "look" that strangers will admire and stop to inquire. |
Most of the work is sterling silver (marked .925) and hallmarked with a circle-in-a-square signature stamp or tag. Almost every design can be made in 18K gold upon special request.
